The sky above San Pedro de Atacama is one of the clearest in the world, ideal for looking at the stars, planets, and all sorts of astronomical phenomena, and at Explora we have the privilege of being able to observe them in detail from our own observatory located in our lands.
Enjoy an exclusive pool in the Puritama Hot Springs: Covering 7,500 hectares, the Puritama Nature Reserve is a unique territory in the middle of the desert. It is a place that - unlike the rest of the region - does not stand out for its aridity, but rather for the opposite: the presence of water.
At this lodge they believe that exploration possibilities are infinite and that is why we are constantly looking for new routes along which to expand horizons, either on horseback or by bicycle.

This Lodge is located in the oasis of San Pedro de Atacama, on the beautiful Ayllu de Larache, once inhabited by ancient Atacameño families. San Pedro is a beautiful adobe village surrounded by the desert’s most dramatic features: salt-flats, volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, windswept sand dunes and many others.
To get here you have to fly from Santiago, Chile and connect a flight to Calama.
The lodge provides travelers with transfer services to and from Calama airport according to pre-established schedules.

Excursions in Atacama are divided into five different altitude zones, each with a set of unique geographic, cultural and biospheric characteristics. All 50+ excursions have been designed in order to gradually unveil the territory’s essence – either on foot, bicycle or from within the lodge’s observatory. Travelers have the possibility of choosing different excursions every day. All have different lengths and difficulty levels, with activities for all abilities, in four levels of difficulty and half-day or full-day options. All excursions are included in the program.

Atacama lodge has 50 rooms. There are three of rooms, all designed to provide a comfortable stay while enjoying spectacular views to the surrounding landscape. Wi-Fi is only available in the common areas.

Lodge rates include: Accommodations, all guided excursions, use of the spa, with additional cost for massages. Meals: breakfast, lunch* and dinner, and open bar. Transfers from Calama Airport to lodge, and vice versa.
Programs start with 3 nights minimum stay.

The lodge’s culinary proposition was exclusively developed by the renowned Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez, owner of the best restaurant in the world according to the ranking The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023.
Inspired by the Atacama Desert, it includes local and native ingredients such as chañar and cachiyuyo to explore the Andean region’s unique flavors. We hope our travelers live a unique dining experience discovering the natural treasures of the driest desert in the world.
SPA: Surrounded by pampas grass and other local flora, four pools are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the quiet of the desert after an active day. The temperature of one of the pools ranges from 25°C to 28° C / 77°F to 82°F. In the nearby area are the sauna, steam baths, and outdoor hot tubs. Spa with hydromassage, sauna and massage room (massages have an additional cost)
