Explora el Chalten sits amidst a gorgeous and pristine private natural reserve, on the north bank of the Eléctrico River and surrounded by dense forests of lenga and ñirre trees. Its strategic position is perfect to explore the Southern Patagonia Ice Field, the world’s third largest fresh water reserve.

From Buenos Aires, Argentina, take flight to El Calafate. Then a lodge’s vehicle will drive you to the lodge.

Excursions from Explora el Chaltén The lodge has over 30 excursions so that you can discover every corner of this vast territory through different modalities: hiking, over-land, and high mountain, among others. Excursions provide travelers with an in depth experience of this austral territory, allowing them to become immersed in its unique characteristics and go deeper into what makes Patagonia unique. In order to do so, we have outlined four different zones, each with its own set of unique geographic, cultural and biosphere characteristics.

El Chalten lodge has 20 rooms, designed to provide a comfortable stay while enjoying spectacular views to the surrounding landscape. Wi-Fi is only available in the hotel’s common areas.

Lodge rates include: Accommodations, all guided excursions, use of the spa, with additional cost for massages. Meals: breakfast, lunch* and dinner, and open bar. Transfers* from El Calafate Airport to lodge, and vice versa.
Programs start with 3 nights minimum stay.

SPA This lodge has a full-service spa for our travelers to recharge after a day of exploration. Hydromassage tubs, sauna, and massage room, especially designed to enjoy the view our privileged location.
GASTRONOMY The Argentine Chef Mr. Pablo Jesús Rivero- the great exponent of Argentine cuisine and owner of the restaurant “Don Julio”, which has been voted the 14th best restaurant in Latin America according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants of 2022 - and Guido Tassi, his chef adviser at Don Julio, designed the new menu for Explora in El Chaltén The cuisine is based on the interpretation of the surrounding nature and the culinary landscape. Only seasonal raw materials are used, obtained from small local producers using agro-ecological criteria and in some cases collection.
